Norfolk General Hospital and the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home celebrates our physicians on National Physicians’ Day
Date issued: Wednesday, May 1, 2024
(SIMCOE) – Today, (Wednesday, May 1), Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) and the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home (NHNH) will proudly celebrate National Physicians’ Day, a special day to express our gratitude and appreciation to our team of over 145 physicians and those serving in the community. This annual celebration across Canada is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the dedication of all physicians and the comprehensive care they provide to our patients and their families.
Our physicians, whether they specialize in primary care or advanced specialties, whether they work on the hospital floors, in operating rooms, or in community settings, remain dedicated to our mission, which is to relieve illness and suffering, and to help people live healthier lives.
They are not only healers but also innovators, leaders, educators, and cherished colleagues who commit long hours and go above and beyond every day to ensure our patients receive the highest quality care.
“We are extremely thankful for our devoted physicians at Norfolk General Hospital, the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home and across our community, who maintain exceptionally high standards of care every day,” says Dr. Robin Martin-Godelie, Chief of Staff. “Your compassion, professionalism, dedication, and commitment to caring are deeply valued. Thank you for everything you do.”
“I extend my deepest thanks to each physician for their steadfast service and the personal sacrifices they have made to deliver the highest quality of care to our patients and their families,” stated Todd Stepanuik, President and CEO. “Every day, our physicians at NGH, NHNH and those in the wider community consistently rise to the occasion, offering safe and compassionate healthcare. We are profoundly thankful for their dedication and the vital roles they play, each and every day.”
National Physicians’ Day is also an opportunity to welcome NGH’s new physicians and to recognize physicians who have retired to thank them for their compassionate care and service to our community. While one day hardly seems sufficient, it’s a valuable moment to reflect on the significant impact our physicians have on us, our patients, and the broader community.
Please join us on May 1 to thank our physicians for their selfless devotion to healthcare and the well-being of everyone they serve. It’s a perfect day for each of us to show our gratitude for their ongoing commitment.
