Maternal Newborn Clinic

The Maternal Newborn Clinic at Norfolk General Hospital is here to support you during pregnancy and up to six weeks after your baby is born (postpartum).

Our team provides routine prenatal care, early pregnancy support, and follow-up care for you and your newborn in a safe and supportive environment.

You do not need a family doctor to access this clinic. You can refer yourself or visit during clinic hours.

Please call before visiting the clinic. At times, we may be away completing home visits and the clinic may be temporarily closed during posted hours.

How we support you and your baby

We care for:

• Individuals who need routine prenatal care

• Families with or without a primary care provider

• Parents and babies up to six weeks after birth

• Newborns who need weight checks, jaundice checks, or feeding support

• Families who need a wellness check when they cannot see their primary care provider

Services

• Routine prenatal care

• Early pregnancy care

• Postpartum care for parent and baby up to six weeks

• Newborn wellness checks

• Breastfeeding support

• RSV antibody for eligible babies

• RH Immune Globulin (RhoGAM) at 28 weeks when ordered by a provider

Urgent pregnancy assessments and Non-Stress Testing (NST) are completed in Labour and Delivery.
