Simcoe, ON — Ed Ventoso of La Salette, ON, is celebrating a life-changing moment after being named the grand prize winner of an incredible $19,409 in the Norfolk General Hospital Volunteer Associations’ 50/50 jackpot.
When Ed got the call from the Volunteer Association announcing his big win, he was stunned. Although he’s still processing the news, Ed expressed his excitement, saying he’s happy to receive the prize, even if he doesn’t have immediate plans for how he’ll spend it.
“Our community’s incredible support for the 50/50 draw in its second year has been truly inspiring,” said Kerri Emberlin, Director of Volunteer & Spiritual Care Services at NGH. “This initiative has become a fun and engaging way to raise funds for essential equipment. We’re so grateful to see our hospital staff and the broader community come together for such a meaningful cause. It’s a win-win for everyone!”
Ed Ventoso’s big win is a great reminder of the excitement and potential of the Volunteer Associations’ 50/50 draw.
The 50/50 draw isn’t just about winning—it’s a vital source of support for healthcare at Norfolk General Hospital and the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home. Every ticket helps fund critical equipment, ensuring we can provide the best care when it’s needed most. Since the draw started last year, over $30,000 in prizes have been awarded to two winners.
Congratulations to Ed, and a big thank you to everyone who took part. Stay tuned for the next draw—you could be our next big winner!
