NGH announces parking rate update

Simcoe, ON – Parking revenues play an important role in supporting the financial health of Norfolk General Hospital (NGH). Revenue generated through parking helps support patient care, hospital services, and infrastructure improvements.

Beginning June 1, 2026, NGH is increasing its parking rate from $7.00 to $8.00 per exit. This change helps NGH maintain financial stability while continuing to deliver safe, high-quality care to our community.

Despite rising costs, NGH has not raised parking rates in over 10 years. The updated rate follows the Ministry of Health’s Hospital Parking Directive and remains among the most affordable in the region.

“We know any increase can be difficult for patients and families, and we did not make this decision lightly,” said Dan Hill, Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. “NGH has kept parking rates unchanged for more than decade. This increase will help support the hospital’s financial sustainability while continuing to invest in patient care for our community.”

To keep parking accessible, NGH will continue to offer discounted monthly passes for visitors.
