NGH and NHNH call off Code Grey
(Simcoe) – We are pleased to announce that our Code Grey is officially over, and our phone systems at Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) and the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home (NHNH) are now back in working order.
On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, we initiated a Code Grey due to a hospital-wide disruption of our phone systems caused by a power surge. We want to extend our gratitude to our patients, their families, and our entire community for their patience and understanding during this challenging time.
We would also like to thank our dedicated I.T. team, along with Bell, for their efforts in restoring our phone services.
During our Code Grey, patient care remained our top priority. Our staff, physicians, and volunteers continued to provide exceptional care under challenging circumstances. We are grateful for their ongoing commitment to our patients and community.
It’s important to note that during the Code Grey, our Emergency Department remained open and fully operational, and all scheduled patient appointments continued as planned.
The public can call the hospital and the nursing home using our main line at (519) 426-0130.
Thank you once again for your understanding and cooperation.
