Influenza A outbreak declared over on the 3E Inpatient unit at NGH
(Simcoe, ON) – The Influenza A outbreak on the 3E Medical Inpatient unit at Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) has been declared over.
The Influenza A outbreak was declared on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, and resulted in five patients testing positive for Influenza A.
As a reminder, NGH recommends wearing masks in certain areas, including inpatient units and the emergency department. Masks are available at all hospital entrances. If you are feeling unwell, we strongly encourage avoiding in-person visits to help protect patients and staff. For patients who test positive for COVID-19, visitors are only permitted under special circumstances.
