Barrel Restaurant’s generous donation brightens the holidays for NHNH residents

(Simcoe) – The Barrel Restaurant has once again exemplified the spirit of giving this holiday season through a heartfelt donation to the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home (NHNH), enriching the lives of its residents.

The donation includes a thoughtful array of items: books, puzzles, games, chocolates, cookies, gloves, hats, throw blankets, fuzzy socks, lotions, and more. These carefully chosen items were specifically intended to bring warmth and happiness to the NHNH residents, offering comfort during the holiday season.

Nick Kokkoros, part-owner of Barrel Restaurant, shed light on the motivation behind their donation. “Our staff, in their annual tradition of giving back during the holiday season, carefully deliberated on where to extend support. Recognizing the importance of spreading cheer to those in need, they selected items that would bring delight and warmth to the residents of NHNH. Additionally, we were moved by the contributions of some of our patrons who graciously joined in this initiative.”

Over the years, Barrel Restaurant has been committed to supporting various charitable causes, having previously extended assistance to organizations such as the Caring Cupboard, the Salvation Army, and the women’s shelter.

The NHNH and residents express their sincere gratitude to Barrel Restaurant and its patrons for their benevolent gesture, making this holiday season brighter for those under their care.
