NGH shows excellence in Laboratory Services with Accreditation in Diagnostics

(Simcoe, ON) — Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) is proud to share that its Laboratory Services Team has received the highest accreditation award from Accreditation Canada Diagnostics. The assessment took place from April 14 to 16, 2025.
Accreditation Canada surveyors reviewed more than 420 requirements and highlighted the team’s strong performance in several key quality and patient-safety areas.
Accreditation is recognized around the world as a mark of excellence.
NGH offers a wide range of laboratory services, including hematology, clinical chemistry, pathology, ECGs, and transfusion medicine. Over the past year, the team also completed more than 400,300 lab tests, supporting residents across Norfolk County and surrounding communities. These services help physicians diagnose health concerns quickly and accurately, allowing patients to receive timely treatment close to home.

During the accreditation visit, surveyors observed daily operations, reviewed policies and safety practices, and spoke with staff, and physicians.
“This recognition from Accreditation Canada clearly demonstrates the hard work of our laboratory staff and pathologists, especially over the past several years,” said Chetan Jariwala, Director, Integrated Laboratory Services at NGH. “We are proud to serve Norfolk County and remain committed to delivering reliable, exceptional diagnostic services close to home.”
