COVID-19 outbreak declared over on 4B Complex Continuing Care Unit – –

(Simcoe, ON) — Norfolk General Hospital (NGH), in consultation with Grand Erie Public Health, has declared the COVID-19 outbreak on the 4B Complex Continuing Care Unit over.

The outbreak began on December 3, 2025. 11 cases were confirmed, and our teams acted quickly to contain the situation. All safety measures were followed throughout the outbreak.

The 4B Unit has now reopened to visitors in line with NGH’s current visitation policy.

We want to thank the staff on 4B and employees across the hospital for their hard work and teamwork. Your efforts helped stop the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring patients continued to receive safe care. We also appreciate the patience and cooperation shown by patients and families.

Masking reminder

We want to remind everyone that wearing a mask is highly recommended in certain areas of the hospital, including inpatient units and the Emergency Department. Masks are available at all public entrances.

If you are feeling sick, please avoid visiting a loved one in the hospital. Staying home when unwell helps protect patients, staff, and families.
