Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Campaign returns to support the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation

Date issued: Wednesday, April 24, 2024

(Simcoe) – They’re back! Beginning next week, Smile Cookies are returning to Tim Hortons restaurants. From April 29 to May 5, participating Tim Hortons locations across Norfolk County will sell their signature chocolate chunk Smile Cookies for $1.50 each. All proceeds will go to support the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation.

This year’s participating locations are:

  • Queensway and Norfolk Street in Simcoe
  • Andrew Street in Port Dover
  • James Street in Delhi
  • Main Street in Waterford

These locations are dedicated to raising vital funds to support healthcare close to home.

“I really want to thank the Tim Hortons store owners, their staff, and all the volunteers,” said Emma Rogers, CEO of the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation. “The Smile Cookie campaign helps us raise money and awareness for the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation. It encourages more people to get involved and makes sure the money we raise stays right here in our community. That’s definitely something to smile about!”

Last year, the Smile Cookie campaign set a new record by raising $72,023.07 for the Foundation, which helped fund new patient bedside monitoring systems for the Emergency Department.

The first Smile Cookie campaign launched in 1996, originally raising funds for Hamilton Children’s Hospital. Since then, the annual charitable campaign has raised a total of more than $111 million across Canada and the United States for charities and organizations. Recipients include local hospitals, community care organizations, food banks, and schools.

While the province provides funds for hospital operations at Norfolk General Hospital, the community’s support is vital for the funding of hospital equipment.
