Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) is mourning the loss of Dr. John Hall, a long-time family physician, and friend. Dr. Hall was 77.

NGH would like to express sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Hall as well as his physician colleagues and friends, all of the staff members he has worked with in Port Dover, and NGH over the years, and all of his patients.

“On behalf of NGH, I would like to express our sorrow at the passing of our long-time friend and colleague,” said Dr. Robin Martin-Godelie, Chief of Staff at NGH. “Dr. Hall was a highly valued and well-respected member of the NGH healthcare team and a beloved family physician to patients in Port Dover and the surrounding area. He was an incredibly intelligent and hard-working family physician who dedicated his life to serving the health and well-being of patients, residents, and families. We extend our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to his family and everyone fortunate to know him.”

Dr. Hall began his practice as a family physician in Port Dover in 1972. His busy practice included Family Medicine, Obstetrics, Coroner duties, Long Term Care, rotations through the Emergency Department, and he was the long-time Chief of Staff at NGH.

To honour the incredible life and dedication of Dr. Hall, NGH has lowered its flags to half-mast.

NGH extends our sympathies to Dr. Hall’s family as we remember his dedication and life of service.
