COVID-19 outbreaks declared over on the 3B and 3E Units

Saturday, April 15, 2023

In collaboration with the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit (HNHU), the COVID-19 outbreaks that were declared on the 3B Medical Surgical Unit and the 3E Medical Unit at Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) have been declared over.

All appropriate actions were taken to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and physicians. We thank our staff whose expertise and teamwork brought these outbreaks to a close.

Both units have now reopened for visitors in accordance with Phase 3 of NGH’s Visitor policy.

For the safety and well-being of everyone in the hospital, we ask that you do not visit if you feel unwell or have symptoms such as cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, diarrhea, vomiting, or a new rash.

Diligent mask-wearing while in the hospital also remains in place and is essential for all visitors, in order to protect our most vulnerable patients. Hospital-issued masks must cover the visitor’s mouth and nose, and must remain on for the entire visit.
