COVID-19 Outbreak declared over at Norfolk General Hospital’s 4B Complex Continuing Care Unit

(October 5, 2022) – In consultation with the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit, Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) is pleased to announce an end to the COVID-19 outbreak on the 4B Complex Continuing Care Unit.

In total, seven patients tested positive for the virus during the outbreak that was declared on September 17, 2022.

All appropriate actions were taken to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and physicians. We thank staff whose expertise and teamwork brought this outbreak to a close.

A reminder that NGH continues to uphold a universal mandatory masking policy. Every person entering the hospital is required to wear a hospital-provided mask while inside. Masks can be found at each entrance of the hospital. A reminder to also self-screen before coming to the hospital.
