COVID-19 Outbreak declared over at Norfolk General Hospital’s 3E Unit

(NGH) Monday, May 16, 2022 – In consultation with the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit, Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) is pleased to announce an end to the COVID-19 outbreak on the 3E Medical Unit.

In total, 11 patients tested positive for the virus during the outbreak that was declared on April 29, 2022.

All appropriate actions were taken to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and physicians. We thank staff whose expertise and teamwork brought this outbreak to a close.

Please note: Visitor Restrictions and active screening remain in place. Exceptions are in place for Essential Care Providers (ECPs) of eligible patients.

NGH remains vigilant in following the Infection Prevention and Control safety measures to protect our patients, our staff, and our physicians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
