COVID-19 Outbreak declared over at Norfolk General Hospital’s 3B Medical/Surgical Unit

(SIMCOE) – In consultation with the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit, Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) is pleased to announce the conclusion of the COVID-19 outbreak on the 3B Medical/Surgical Unit

The outbreak was officially declared on September 19, 2022, and during its course, a total of 18 patients tested positive for the virus.

All appropriate actions were taken to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and physicians.

We want to acknowledge the hard work of the staff at the 3B Unit and of all our NGH employees who stepped up to stop the spread of COVID-19 while continuing to provide necessary care. And thank you to our patients and their families for your patience and cooperation through this time.

This situation has proved that our continued success depends on supporting each other as we work through the pandemic together.
