COVID-19 outbreak at Holmes House declared over
January 17, 2022
In consultation with the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit, the COVID-19 outbreak at Holmes House has been declared over.
The outbreak was declared on January 14, 2022, after three staff members at the withdrawal management services facility in Simcoe, Ontario tested positive for COVID-19. During the outbreak, no cases were identified with clients.
All appropriate actions were taken to ensure the safety of our clients, staff, and physicians.
Norfolk General Hospital, the governing agency of Holmes House, wants to thank our staff whose expertise and teamwork brought this outbreak to a close. Our thoughts are with those whose well-being may have been impacted during this outbreak.
While there have been no further cases, the Holmes House withdrawal management services will tentatively resume on Jan. 31, 2022. It is possible that this tentative date may be modified due to the widespread transmission of omicron in our community, which has sent several of our staff into self-isolation. Updates will be provided if the reopening date changes.
Holmes House remains vigilant in following the Infection Prevention and Control safety measures in place to protect our clients, and our staff during the COVID 19 pandemic.
