Complex Care Unit

 

The Complex Care Unit is located on the fourth floor a NGH for patients with medically complex conditions that require unique programming which cannot be managed in Long Term Care facilities. It is a unit comprised of restorative beds, palliative care beds and medically complex beds.   This unit is staffed with registered nurses and registered practical nurses, along with other multidisciplinary professionals (i.e. speech pathologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, recreational therapist) who collaborate with patients and their families to provide quality care that is patient focused.

 Complex care is a time limited program designed to assist patient achieve longer range goals. This patient population is medically stable but requires specialized 24h care.

Slow Stream Rehabilitation

 The Slow Stream Rehabilitation Program at NGH provides services for patients demonstrating rehabilitation potential with specific goals of improving their functional abilities in order to transition home.
