The Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

icu_1The Intensive Care Unit is a specialized unit designed to care for patients who are icu_2critically ill or require constant monitoring. In our six-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and four-bed stepdown unit we provide care for patients with critical conditions, cardiac related illnesses, respiratory failure, and post-operative care.

The Intensive Care Team

The interdisciplinary team includes but is not limited to physicians, nurses, resicu_3piratory therapists, dieticians, physiotherapists, social workers, and clerical staff. Specialist services in the Intensive Care Unit include internal medicine , surgery, cardiology and anesthesia .

The experienced critical care professionals are well educated and trained in
critical care skills and offer the best quality care to our patients and their families. Implementation of current evidence-based practice is central to the care we
provide to our patients. We also participate in ongoing research trials.

Visiting Hours: We encourage families to be involved in the care of their loved ones. icu_4
Please remember, however, that your loved one does require rest in order to recover from their illness.

Sharing Information with Family:

icu_5We ask that patients identify a family member who will be the contact for all information sharing. If the patient is too ill, we ask that one family member be the designated contact with the hospital.
