The Patient Registration Department is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week, including all holidays. Everyone who needs hospital services must be registered.

When you come to the hospital, please bring your Ontario Health Card, and any documentation that verifies you have insurance coverage that will pay for a semi - private or private room. Registering you for service will take less time if you bring this information with you.

If you are coming to the hospital directly from your doctor's office, or if you are coming for a pre-booked operation or procedure, please come to the Patient Registration department when you arrive. If you need Emergency services, please go directly to the Emergency Department. A Triage Nurse will assess the care you require and let you know how to register. Pre-Admission

Whenever possible, the hospital "pre-admits" patients for non - urgent operations and procedures. This allows the hospital to gather the personal information needed to register you and start a patient record before you arrive. Collecting this information before your visit means you will spend less time registering on the day of your operation or procedure. We prefer to write to you and send you a package of information. Sometimes there is not enough time to mail the information  to you and have it returned before your operation or procedure. In these cases, we will call you and gather some information over the telephone. The hospital will also call you the night before your operation or procedure. This gives us an opportunity to confirm the time you should arrive at the hospital, review your pre - operative instructions and answer any last minute questions you may have.
