Community comes together to complete three year campaign for NGH

Sept.17, 2012

Simcoe, ON – Norfolk and area residents have lent their hearts and their support to ensuring quality health care at Norfolk General Hospital.  The NGH Foundation “Lend a Hand’ campaign has officially met its three year, $3 million dollar goal!

“We couldn’t have done this without the tremendous support from our community, including all of our local clubs and service groups, corporate supporters, individual donations, staff and monies raised through our annual golf tournaments,” said Julie Powell, director of development. “We should all be very proud of what we were able to accomplish for our community hospital.”

The three year campaign officially began in September 2009 with three priority areas including patient care equipment, a digital X-ray machine and suite, and operating room equipment and revitalization. In total over 50 pieces of new patient care equipment were purchased for the hospital, many of which were in desperate need of replacement.

“The NGH Foundation would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who helped us reach our goal. This really proves how much you value our community hospital and appreciate the quality patient care our health care professionals strive to deliver.”

The NGH Foundation will formally introduce the “Taking Care Every Day” campaign this fall which will focus fundraising efforts on upgrading hospital technology, considered NGH’s life support system.  The foundation invites everyone to tune in and listen to the 10th Annual NGH Foundation Radiothon on CD 98.9fm which will broadcast live from the hospital on October 17 from 7am-7pm.
