Simcoe, ON – Giving back to the community within the policing region is very important and still a priority for the now disassembled Haldimand-Norfolk Police Association who recently delivered a generous $5,000.00 donation to the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation which will go towards the Operating Room Revitalization Project.
Originally formed in 1974 when both Haldimand and Norfolk counties had regional police services, the Haldimand-Norfolk Police Association was the lead labour union for area officers and civilian staff.
“We chose to give back to NGH, two other area hospitals and Camp Trillium,” said Dave Stelptra, who presented Julie Powell, director of development with the $5,000.00 donation. “Someday I’ll be in this hospital,” said Shirley Kazlauskas, who once worked as a dispatcher for the regional force.
“We are very happy that the Haldimand-Norfolk Police Association chose to support NGH and thank all of the members of this former association for their past services to our communities in Haldimand and Norfolk. With this donation you are definitely helping others and contributing to quality health care in our community.”
The Norfolk General Hospital Foundation has nearly completed fundraising for the Operating Room Revitalization project thanks to generous donations such as this. Upgrades to the operating room will continue to support quality patient care in our community. For more information, please visit www.ngh.on.ca
