Norfolk County, ON – Start your bidding! The 2nd Annual NGH Foundation online Auction is open for business all in support of the Operating room revitalization project and leading up to the 23rd Annual NGH Foundation Golf Classic July 17 and 18th at the Norfolk Golf and Country Club.

“We decided to do the online auction once again this year following last year’s great success,” said John Davies, tournament auction coordinator. “This gives the entire community an opportunity to bid on items featured in our golf auction and an opportunity for us to show our appreciation to all those businesses that have supported it.”

The online auction is hosted through the Norfolk General Hospital website www.ngh.on.ca and offers a wide variety of items to bid on including; VIP passes to the final day at the Canadian Open, local restaurant vouchers, wood carvings, cooking classes, massages, vacations and more. “There’s a great variety of items and something for everyone,” said Davies, who adds that new items are being uploaded daily.

Last year the NGH Foundation Golf Classic raised $200,000.00, a goal the NGH Foundation and Golf committee hope to match or exceed this year. “Thanks to the community for supporting this tournament and online auction. We really appreciate your generosity,” said Julie Powell, director development for the NGH Foundation, who looks forward to meeting with golfers July 17 and 18 at the Norfolk Golf and Country Club in Simcoe.

Bids for the online auction will be accepted until July 17 at 12 noon. Participants will have the option of placing a maximum bid to compete with auction bids generated during the two day golf tournament.

“This is a great way of promoting the items, generate interest and raise funds for NGH,” said Davies, who encourages anyone who is interested to login to www.ngh.on.ca and browse through this year’s items.

Funds raised at this year’s tournament will go toward the revitalization the operating room and helping to purchase new and updated medical equipment for the operating room team. Full information on fundraising items and tournament details can be found at www.ngh.on.ca
