to 3B Unit

March 15, 2012

Simcoe, ON – Outbreak control measures at NGH have been expanded to include the 3B unit. At this time, five patients have shown symptoms of gastrointestinal illnesses on the 3B unit. These symptoms include vomiting and (or) diarrhea. Cases of gastrointestinal have now been identified on both the 3B and 4B units of the hospital.

We strongly discourage family and friends from visiting the 3B and 4B units at this time. Please do not come to the hospital unless you require urgent medical care. Proper hand hygiene is essential at all times. Additional control measures include patient isolation, closure to 3B and 4B admissions and enhanced cleaning.

Thank you for respecting these strict visiting restrictions, we appreciate your cooperation. Please visit our website for additional updates.
