Simcoe, ON –. The Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home (NHNH) is pleased to announce an end to the respiratory outbreak that began in the home February 14. All precautions have been lifted.
During this outbreak, two variations of the common cold virus were identified affecting 20 residents and four staff. There have not been any new cases identified in the Nursing Home since February 23.
There were no cases of the flu identified during this outbreak. Influenza has got off to a late start in our province and the public are encouraged to get their flu shots from Public Health or their family physician if they have not already done so. Protect yourself and others around you.
The Outbreak Team, including our partners from Public Health thanks the Nursing Home staff for their ongoing efforts at preventing resident illness and reminds visitors to avoid visiting the Nursing Home if they are not feeling well.
