Christmas Campaign Raises $100,000

Jan.16-2012
Simcoe, ON – Norfolk County is blessed to have so many ‘Angels of Care’ who truly care about their community hospital. This holiday season, residents opened their hearts and their pocketbooks to donate approximately $100,000 to the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation and help raise funds towards a mobile critical care ultrasound.
“We want to personally thank everyone who made a donation to the ‘Angels of Care’ Christmas tree this past holiday season,” said Kelly Isfan, NGH President and CEO. “Staff really appreciated seeing notes of gratitude on the ornaments attached to the tree in addition to Tributes and Memorials from family members. This is a long tradition in our community that continues to shine brightly every year, thanks to the incredible generosity.”
The mobile critical care ultrasound will be used by physicians at the point of care or at a patient’s bedside in the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency. “This equipment will provide our patients with the best standard of care and offer our physicians a vital tool they need to help deliver it,” said Kelly Isfan.
Currently, physicians have been trialing various ultrasound models and hope to soon choose the best unit for our hospital.
In addition to funds generated through the Christmas campaign, $53,000 was raised through a letter of support delivered by Kelly Isfan, NGH President and CEO to community stakeholders and local business leaders in the fall.
Since the launch of the 3-year, $3-million dollar, Lend a Hand Campaign in September, 2009, the NGH Foundation is proud to announce that they have successfully raised $2.2 million dollars for patient care equipment.
