Pre - Admission

Whenever possible, the hospital "pre - admits" patients for non - urgent operations and procedures. This allows the hospital to gather the personal information needed to register you and start a patient record. Collecting this information before your visit means you will spend less time completing forms on the day of your operation or procedure. We prefer to write to you and send you a package of information. Sometimes there is not enough time to get the information out to you and have it returned before your operation or procedure. In these cases, we will call you and gather some information over the telephone. The hospital will call you the night before your operation or procedure. This gives us an opportunity to confirm the time you should arrive at the hospital, review your pre - operative instructions and answer any last minute questions you may have.
