The laboratory at NGH is fully staffed from 0700h to 2300h 7 days per week. Call back services are offered between the hours of 2300h and 0700h to meet urgent and emergent laboratory testing requirements within our full services hospital. 

Services are provided by a team of 8 medical laboratory technologists (MLT), 10 medical laboratory assistants (MLA), 2 clerical staff and a pathologist/medical director.  The experienced staff utilizes modern technologies and methodologies to provide patient test results in the following disciplines:

• Chemistry
• Transfusion Medicine
• Hematology
• Pathology
• Stress Testing
• ECG

Esoteric and low volume testing needs as well as Microbiology service is provided by other laboratory partners within our Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), private laboratory providers and Public Health Laboratories.
