Registered Practical Nurse - Obstetrics/Surgical Units
Part Time
Position Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (Level C) certification
- Recent experience with combined care in obstetrics/surgical unit
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality care for patients and families including implementation of the nursing process
- Ability to work in collaboration with other team members
- Peri-natal Nursing Module
- Breast feeding certificate
- Medication Administration experience/certificate
- Sound problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated abilities in patient teaching
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
- Evidence of continuing education
- Excellent attendance record
- Knowledge of computer applications in a Microsoft environment
- Familiarity with Meditech order entry system an asset
- Adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures and provisions and the recognition and reporting of unsafe hazards and work practices
Hours of Work:
Must work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
