Registered Practical Nurse - Medical and Complex Continuing Care/Slow Stream/Alternate Level of Care Units
Part Time
Position Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Recent experience in medical nursing and caring of patients with complex but stable and predictable medical conditions
- Medication Administration certificate
- Pediatric nursing experience an asset
- Experience in caring for patients with palliative care needs an asset
- Sound problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated abilities in patient teaching
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
- Evidence of continuing education in medical nursing
- Current BCLS
- Excellent attendance record
- Knowledge of computer applications in a Microsoft environment
- Familiarity with Meditech order entry system an asset
- Adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures and provisions and the recognition and reporting of unsafe hazards and work practices
Hours of Work:
Must work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
